Gran Turismo HD 2.0 - Force Feedback Added

UK gamers have been given a nice little treat after getting their hands on the PlayStation 3 console in the last 24 hours, that treat has been version 2.0 of the free Gran Turismo HD demo. While largely identical to versions 1.0 and 1.1 of the game, 2.0 adds a much needed feature, Force Feedback.

IGN have tested four different Logitech wheels with the new demo, and have given their views on each one. It's an interesting read for those of you who have actually got a wheel. Currently there does not seem to be any release date on this updated demo for US and Japanese owners, but we'll bring you more details on that if and when it comes around.

Force Feedback is available in USA NOW!!!. I just upgraded to v. 1.2 and took a spin with my G25 setup. Works great. Even improved my time (ranked 17th in the Tuned Celica!). Enjoy!

The steering wheel has motors inside. It reads signals from the game to add resistance or move on it's own. Resistance can simulate the feel of the road. For example, if you loosen your grip on the wheel while accelerating out of a turn, the wheel will center itself even though it has no springs in it. The faster you are through a turn, the harder it is to turn the wheel up to a point. If you loose traction, the wheel may go loose, or if the car spins, it may turn hard on it's own. It will shake when you hit bumps or run off the road. It is awesome.
